Weekend Wrap-Up: The Zoo And Camping

We spent the afternoon at the zoo with members of Drake's soccer team and their families. Here we are dressed in red and black, the X-treme colors.

We met the team for lunch and only visited the North America side of the zoo. The rest of the team met earlier and toured the Africa side. J.J. was scheduled to teach Sunday School, so we arrived later. We missed our worship service, but did I mention that we DID go to Sunday School? Then we enjoyed God's creation. Is that a good excuse to miss church?

A goose on the loose, or shall I say, it was chased away. If you've been to the N.C. zoo lately, you've learned that it's not only ants that can ruin a picnic.

Here they are again. We enjoyed our zoo outing. Since we have a zoo membership, we hope to visit frequently.

Friday night we camped out by the lake with our neighbors, the Youngs. The campground we used last year is no longer welcoming tent campers, but that didn't spoil our fun. Someone was generous enough to let us camp on their land by the lake and use their pier. The only downfall was the one BIG bathroom.....the woods.
