Although I can generally be described by the title of this post, it does not refer to me, but to our Labor Day weekend camping trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We joined with two other families for a wonderful time of enjoying each other and the outdoors.
Our friends arrived before we did and selected a creekside spot for us, which was perfect after JJ got the pop-up backed in and set up! He and Noah got an evening workout since they had skipped their normal 5:00am training session.
At most places, you pay extra for such a prime campsite. Later you will see that many hours were spent in the creek.
Look at all the little ducks in a row!
The kids spent some time at the playground
and riding bikes
or playing soccer in the street.
We spent some time at the "beach" and the high dive was a hit again this trip. (We went to Hungry Mother in July of 2011 and it was rainy and cold!)
All ice cream was half price!
One of our favorite camping meals is low-country boil! YUM!!!
Look what came from the creek. Stay tuned for more critters.
Playing 'Good Morning, Mr. Judge"
We always had a tasty breakfast.

Corinna was so excited to hold Luke.
Look at these precious boys listening to the "children's message".

Yes, he's eating crawdads he and Isaac caught from the creek!
The rest of us had a fajita fiesta.
We lit up glowsticks and ate Campfire Cones. I got the idea off of Pinterest. The kids liked them ok but not as good as s'mores.
We got some rain over the weekend, but not nearly what the forecasters predicted. It rained some Saturday afternoon and again Saturday night, but not heavily.
First sign of fall!
Nope, that's not junk in the trunk!
We had a fantastic Labor Day weekend and we're already talking about returning to Hungry Mother next year. Let me know if you'd like to join us when we do!
