My New Ride

Our Venture bit the dust. It just wasn't worth the money to fix the blown head gasket after years repairs. Currently it is still in our driveway, but we hope to get rid of it soon.

We are now back to the reality of car payments but are thankful I have been working regularly as a sub. I just completed my long term job as an EC teacher. After Spring Break I plan to keep subbing wherever needed. I once again declined teaching 5th grade long term, but trust that God will provide other opportunities.

Our new to us van is a 2011 Toyota Sienna. We are enjoying it thus far. In a few hours the Silver Bullet will be going on her first road trip with us. We will be spending Spring Break at the beach house!

Trailblazers (or not)

After Corinna's soccer game in Wilkesboro last Sunday, our plan was to spend the afternoon riding bike trails at the Kerr Scott Lake Dam and Reservoir. However, the trails were too steep for the kids (and for me) and the wind was fierce. We still enjoyed our time with the Ramirez family and finally got the grill lit to cook our hotdogs. On the agenda today: searching for a new van as ours has seen its demise.

March Madness (Cullens Style)

We have little time for watching basketball games around here due to soccer.  Although, we have caught a few moments of the ACC tournament.  Is it bad that we don't really pull for a particular team
and that we don't care?

Our family has been busy with soccer, averaging 4 practices during the week and 2-4 games on the weekends.  These pics were taken over the course of a few weeks.

We are glad that it is warming up a bit.

We will go strong up until Easter and will have a short break.
(The beach is calling my name!)

It is good watching the teams improve collectively and as individuals.
It is not always about the win. However,  both teams have won or tied some games.

Furthermore, it's not just about soccer, but about building relationships and character.

Each team has potential camping trips in the works and weekend out-of-town tournaments.
One tourney is in Boone... oh how I miss that town.

So, this wraps up our March Madness, which explains my lack of recent posts.  Between working every day (I finish my long-term subbing job on March 28th), homework, school and sports activities, and the never empty laundry baskets, I just have not been able to keep up very well. The madness will continue around here, but it surely won't end when March does!
