In a Pinch

Well, it is St. Patrick's Day and as the Luck of the Irish would have it, winter weather put us in a pinch yet again. Schools dismissed early because of sleet. We must be setting a record for inclement weather in March.

Here is some of what's been happening with us...

I am over 1/2 way finished with my 5k training. I have made progress but I may need to modify the rest of the training . I can run further and faster than when I began, but I know that I will not be able to run the entire 5k. My goal is to run at least half and finish in around 40 minutes or less. The Glow Run is scheduled for April 11th.

Another reality that's had us in a pinch is the fact that our dryer is on the fritz. It's been a week. The part should arrive in a day or two an hopefully JJ can successfully install it. We have mounds of dirty laundry and random items air-drying throughout the house. Thankfully Saturday was nice and JJ put up a clothesline in the back yard. Sheets and blankets fresh off the line do smell nice.

"Spring" soccer has begun. We've played in both pleasant and terrible weather and have had a number of rainouts. Hopefully, conditions will improve at the official start to spring later in the week.

Recently, my Dad was honored at the West Davidson Alumni Basketball game. Here we are sporting our Dragon Green:

There was also a wonderful article in The Dispatch about my dad and a long-time friend. It warmed my heart.

Despite the bad weather we had the past two days, Saturday was gorgeous. We met some friends at the drive-in for a double feature.

Green is my favorite color and I expect that soon the brown, muddy grass will turn green. Trees and flowers will bloom.
Spring is on it's way!
