Jordan Lake

This past weekend, we camped out at Jordan Lake State Park. We stayed at the Crosswinds campground. We're trying out new camping spots this month, having been to Morrow Mountain a few weeks ago. Over Memorial Day weekend we are camping in western North Carolina. There are even a few places in Virgina we are looking into.

Corinna was thrilled that her friends joined us Saturday afternoon. They now reside in Apex, where Lake Jordan is located.

I see I'm not the only one who likes them burnt.

Corinna got to sleep in Sophie and Kaitlyn's tent. All evening they sang, "It's party time!"

It's a good thing we had our pop-up canopy. Lynette's tent was missing the rain fly. We got some lightning and it was nice going to sleep to the sound of the rain against the tent.

After a big breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs and biscuits, we packed up the tent.

Then we enjoyed the afternoon on Jordan Lake. We had a good time and arrived in Lexington just as a thunderstorm passed through. We'll be htting the camping trail again in less than 2 weeks. Saluda, N.C. here we come.....all 17 of us plus a few dogs.

Mother's Day Weekend

It's been a great Mother's Day weekend. It began Friday night when J.J. and I went on a double date with our friends, Noah and Beth. The youth group had a babysitting night to raise money to sponsor a Compassion International child. (No pics of our date night to Salisbury)

Saturday, it was off to Denton for soccer games. Here's a pic with my friend and fellow soccer mom, Stephanie.

Drake goes for the ball.

Corinna dribbles down for a goal.

Saturday night we went to the drive-in with Steph and her kids and a couple of dogs, too. The place was packed out.

Noah and Drake, still in their soccer attire.

I'm very thankful to be a mother to such a delightful daughter

wonderful sons.

Although I miss my mom, who would've turned 64 on this Mother's Day, I am grateful for such a loving and supportive mother-in-law. Here's Ma Ma with her grandchildren.

J.J. cooked his mom and I a delicious steak lunch. I had a wonderful Mother's Day. I am richly blessed!
