Crim/Cullens Camping Trip

Over the 4th of July weekend, my brothers and I, along with our families camped together at Pocahontas State Park in Virginia. We had a great time despite some cool, rainy weather.

One of the reasons we chose this park was because of it's aquatic center. The kids enjoyed the pools and waterslide.

We all had a good time hanging out, especially the kids who don't see each other very often.

We had good food, fun times by the fire and the kids played games together.

How fully we can camp again together next year!

Flashback Friday: Kerr Lake Campout

We have a group camping trip planned in about 2 weeks and I have neglected to post about recent trips. I am taking it back to Memorial Day weekend when we camped with a few other families at Kerr Lake.

We always enjoy the fellowship, playing games, good food, nights by the fire and simply enjoying God's creation.

We got a little rain over the weekend but much less than expected. We got a little wet during our time of worship.

We ended up going out to lunch to stay dry but the rain did not linger and did not stop the playing of Kan Jam!

One of my best memories of the trip was enjoying the breathtaking sunset one evening as we sat on the dock overlooking the lake.

What a glorious sight!

Another camping post is coming soon!

Sixteen Candles

We have a 16 year old in the house!

Where did the time go? Our firstborn is growing into a man.

Hayden adds so much joy to our lives. He makes every day interesting. Not only has he grown tall but he has matured and grown in his faith.

Lately Hayden has reminded me of my dad. He has some of my dad's expressions and mannerisms and a similar sense of humor. That makes me smile.

Hayden only has 2 more years of high school. We pray that God will direct his steps. We know Hayden will do great things.

Happy Sweet 16th to our Hayden!

Flashback Friday: Meadowview Ladies Retreat 2016

Southern Charm! This is where I stayed this past spring on the Meadowview Women's Retreat at Holden Beach. It was a lovely home and a wonderful long weekend with my sisters in Christ.

The getaway was good for my mind, body and spirit. Here are just a few pics of the weekend.

Jessica, Andrew and I were roomies!

We had a great time of teaching, relaxation, food and fellowship.

The pool was heated but still a little cool.

We're ready for Rio!

Great memories of a wonderful weekend!

Not Your Average Joe

Last week, Corinna attended Fine Arts Camp at our church. In May, she auditioned and landed the principal character, Joe. She worked hard to memorize the lines and did an amazing job, as did the entire cast.

The camp ended with a final performance on Friday evening. The play was loosely based on the story of Joseph. It was set in the 1950's and Joe's beautiful coat was a colorful leather jacket. He shared in similar trials and triumphs as the Biblical Joseph.

The central truth emphasized in the play is was from Romans 8:28..."we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

It was a wonderful experience for Corinna and for other children in our church and community. To God be the glory!
