The had a touch of wintry weather for the second Friday in a row. We all got out of school around 10:00 and had hot chocolate and lounged around. It started as snow but we mostly got ice, which is good for sledding. Thankfully, the ice melted by early Saturday afternoon so we weren't trapped in the house.

Thumb's Up!
I got some new knives for Christmas and they are sharp! I know so because I cut my thumb pretty good over a week ago. It is healing up rather nicely, but in the meantime I dusted off my dull old knives and have put them back to good use. You never realize how purposeful thumbs are til you are one down. Thankfully, I did not need stitches and I am using my bum thumb to text again.

Filling The Freezer
The deer Drake killed on New Year's Day has been processed. Most of it was made into sausage. A little beef fat needs to be mixed in because venison is so lean. We also will enjoy some tenderloin. We won't go hungry this winter.

Ringing in 2013
I spent the last days of 2012 at the beach with Kay, Hayden, and Corinna . Drake & JJ stayed home to hunt.
The beach was great. Preparations were made at the beach house for some updates like painting and new flooring. So, the next time we go, things will look different.
Here are some pictures. I am blogging on my phone again and have not learned how alternate text and pictures. I am sure there is a way. Maybe in the new year I will learn.
On a side note, Drake killed a deer on New Year's Day. We will have food for the winter!
Looking forward to what God has in store for us in 2013.
