Lake Living: Part 1

We just returned from a vacation to Lake Sinclair, in Georgia. J.J. grew up going to this lake as a child, as his grandfather had a house there. He wanted to create some great memories for our family there as well. We were pleased to find an affordable, pet-friendly home on VRBO.com.

Here's the side of the house that faces the lake.

This is the front of the house.

The water in front of the dock was very shallow at times. The water levels are contolled by the local power company. It fluctuated quite a bit. J.J. had some trouble getting the boat to our pier, but he did it. We quickly learned the shallower areas, so manuevering the boat was easier thereafter.

It didn't take long for the kids to get into the water.

Drake with his drake (male duck toy of Latte's).

She's a retriever alright and loved the water.

The low lake level was ok for the kiddos, as they enjoyed the water AND the mud.

This is where J.J.'s mom and the kids slept, with another bathroom attached. The children were excited to have a t.v. in their room. Only on vacation......it's NOT happening at home.

Our room had a set of bunk beds. Drake slept on top when he was going fishing early with J.J.

My hubby liked the fishing decor in our room.

We saw fireworks off the pier. Neighbors to our right and across the way must have been having a shoot-off.

J.J. caught the biggest catfish of the week, on our very first night, July 4th. Stay tuned for more of our trip to Lake Sinclair.
