Take Me Out To The Ballgame

This past Saturday night, we took took the family plus two extra family friends to the HiToms baseball game.  Someone from church gave us 4 free tickets so we only had to pay about $12 for a night at Finch Field.

It was festival night so there were various free activities for the children to enjoy, like this bounce house

The batter, DJ, is from Delaware.  We got the tickets from his host family.  He got an RBI at this bat.

There was so much going on that we didn't even make it to our seats on the bleachers.  The HiToms won in extra innings.  Our family has attended only a few baseball games, but I grew up watching a lot of baseball.  We had a good time.

By the time the game ended, everyone was doggone tired.....especially Daniel. 



Soccer Seasons

I was so busy during the spring soccer season that I failed to blog about it.

Drake continued to play hard and enjoyed playing on a challenge team.

Here he is playing against some of the guys he will play with next year on a classic team. 

The North Davidson and Davidson County United soccer clubs recently merged.

I know he'll keep playing with intensity!

Here's a team picture.  Drake will play with many of these guys next year also.  They had a fanastic season.  JJ will be transitioning to coaching Corinna next year!

Corinna had a spectacular season a a rec team and will be moving up to a challenge team.

Corinna played a strong leadership role on her team this past season.

She scored lots of goals and was an encouragement to the younger girls.

We'll have to see how she'll fare with her daddy as her coach in the upcoming season.  I think in the long run the switch will be good for them both!

Blah Blah Blog

I've been too busy to blog lately.  We've had lots going on....camping trips, school events, soccer seaons and tryouts for next year, church activites, etc.  My children finished their school year today.  I will finish out my school year tomorrow. Then summer vacation will start.  I will enjoy not waking at 5:30.  I will get to read books and hang out at the pool.  There will be a few camping trips and a vacation to Washington, DC.  I'll enjoy time at the beach and catch up with friends and I will have a little more time to blog.  I'll have some catching up to do.  Stay tuned!
