Merry CHRISTmas!

We had a very Merry CHRISTmas! The Meadowview children's choir sang on Christmas Eve.

There was also a Build-A-Pageant.

After church we headed over to Jake and Kelly's house to celebrate.

We had fun playing Just Dance 3!

We finally stopped dancing to open presents.

Next Christmas another girl will be added to the mix and hopefully Jonathan and Melissa will make it to town with Chase and Brady. My dad will even out the grandchildren with 4 boys and 4 girls!

Since Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, we were able to celebrate the birth of Christ at church. We took my dad to the worship service and Corinna read part of the Christmas story from Luke 2 for the congregation. The rest of our Christmas day was low-key....spent at home eating, watching Christmas movies and enjoying new gifts.

One For The Record Books

We were blessed beyond measure with a wonderful white Christmas this year. Here in Lexington, the last Christmas with measurable snowfall was in 1969. This year's snow beat the record set in 1947. I'd say we received about 4 inches at our house.

We had our third annual Christmas breakfast with the Young's. Good times.

Our big family present is our upcoming trip to Disney World and Universal Studios. We hit the road on January 12th and will return on the 2oth.

We went to Jake and Kelly's Christmas night and anticipated the snow that was on it's way. Our relatives from Hickory were supposed to drive down but they already had 3 inches of snow on the ground by early afternoon. They chose (wisely so) to stay home. Here's my dad with 5 of his 7 grandchildren. Jonathan and his family stayed in Richmond this year.

My dad's been battling a kidney stone but felt well enough to join us.

The snow was quickly beginning to fall about 8:00 so it was time to head home.

Here's our house when we returned Christmas night.

By the next morning it was a winter wonderland. It was time to go play since church was canceled.

The Young's yard has a better hill so we trudged over there and hit the sleds.

Corinna's friends Sophia and Kaitlyn stopped by on their way back to Apex. We ended our snowday as the Young's came over with a big pot of homemade vegetable beef soup. This was certainly a Christmas and day after Christmas to remember!

Celebrating His Birth

Last night, the children's choir of Meadowview presented their "Light Of The World" cantata. They were accompanied by several children displaying their individual musical talents and younger children reinacting the nativity to narration.

The evening brought joy to my heart.

The evening concluded with a birthday party for Jesus, complete with plenty of cake.

Today we celebrate as Drake turns nine. Happy Birthday, son!
