A few Saturday ago, Drake's soccer team played in a pre-season tournament. The team is meshing well together already and won 2 out of 3 of their games.

The regular season begins Sept. 10th.

WHOOOO are you lookin' at? This is the owl from Dan Nicholas Park. Last Saturday, we gathered with some of our church friends for a first ever Catechism Party. The children recited their verses and catechisms and won event tickets and prizes. All the children in attendance mastered all of their memory work.! (Now I need to learn them)

That's all for now. Next up: We're camping this weekend. Check back next week and I'll tell you about our adventure. And yes, I KNOW that rain is in the forecast. Go figure!

Fall Festival Fun

Meadowview's Fall Festival was today. We look forward to it every year. The weather looked questionable, but it only misted while we were there.

Drake with his Ma Ma. He isn't thrilled that he has to leave early to get to his soccer game. There was also face painting and games for the children. And the youth always play soccer in the big field. Drake joined in with them of course. Farewell Fall Festival .... until next year, that is.

Children Desiring God, our Wednesday night program at church, ended last night with a skating party. Drake had soccer practice and was unable to attend. But Hayden and Corinna tried their hand (or should I say feet) at skating. There were no major falls (thank the Lord) and they are improving as rollerskaters. J.J. is great on skates while I, on the other hand, now choose to not even put them on. Here are a few pics of Hayden and Corinna in action.

Hayden finished another lap....then my camera battery died. The skating party was an enjoyable way to wrap up a great year of Wednesday night fellowship. I'm sure we'll find plenty of things to do until our Wednesday night programs start back up in September. Every once in a while, it will be nice just to stay home.
