It was our first camping trip in our pop-up and we had a great time. We are thankful that we remained safe as high winds, rain, and tornadoes passed through the piedmont triad. Due to the weather, the soccer tournament that Drake was scheduled to play in closeby was cancelled.
The campground is maintained by the Parks and Rec Dept. and had lots of outdoor activites including soccer fields.
Gotta love campfires!
A few other soccer players and their families joined us. We adopted another child, Hudson, for the weekend.
It rained a bit Saturday.
They had to hit the pole on the basketball goal to score.
The rain got heavy and the wind was strong Saturday afternoon. We took cover in the camper.
The kids played some rummy. Eventually we ran to the bathhouse for shelter for a little while. After the storm the weather was delightful.
Corinna and Hayden spent some time on the playground.
Fishing time!
Drake on his ripstick
We ate lots of good food cooked on the campfire.
Sunday we played disc golf. They had a really nice course.
We plan to return to Lake Reidsville for another camping adventure. There was lots to do, it was close to home (about 50 minutes from Lexington) and the rates were afforable ($15 a night).
If you have a favorite camping spot, leave a comment. We want to try new places and go back to some of our favorite destinations.
