Our children went to Bible School at our neighbor's church a few weeks ago. During Bible School, the attendees learned a short play/musical called Arkeology. It told the story of Noah building the ark from the animals' perspectives.

A Lunch Date & A Playdate
Corinna and I had a lunch date Tuesday after she met her teacher.
We enjoyed going to Miss Ruby's Tea Room until it closed in December due to the owner moving. Now, Lexington has a new tea house in town.
As you can see, Corinna got dressed up in her high heels, makeshift garter (aka a scrunchie), and her C purse. She even had a check she'd written in her purse, but the man at the cash register said she'd have to take it to the bank when she tried to pay the tab.
Corinna took a picture of me.
And here she is. We had a delightful time.
Today, Corinna enjoyed a playdate with Kristin. She was eager to help "babysit" her friend's younger sister.

Back-to-School Beach Blast
We spent last Friday through Monday morning at the beach with Bill....Hurricane Bill that is. He visited the Atlantic which made the water rough and the rip tide strong. That did not put a damper on our stay, however.
We still got our feet wet.

enjoyed a little man-made pool
put the shovel to good use
exhibited brotherly love
We were excited to get some fish prepared by the Elk's Lodge.
Yummy! Two plates were more than 5 of us could eat.
Drake perfected his 360!

Field Trip: Catawba Science Center
We took a field trip yesterday to the Catawba Science Center in Hickory. My aunt works there and she hooked us up with some free passes.
Shortly after we arrived, she had some pizza waiting for us in one of the classrooms. Thanks Anne; it was delicious. The pizza was from a local place and their specialty is alfredo sauce on some of their signature pizzas, such as chicken and roasted red pepper.
Now for some spinning action. We actually did this before lunch.
We visited the aquarium area twice.
The boys loved petting the sharks.
And stingrays.
We didn't pet the albino Burmese python.
She wanted out of her cage.
The rock climbing wall was a hit, but it was hot outside.
My sis-in-law Kelly gets a grip.
My turn!
Olivia climbs up.
Noah and Hayden follow suit.
building with legos in the invention room
rolling balls down the chutes
Auntie Anne with two of her great nieces.
virtual whitewater rafting (They also had tornadoes, volcanoes, and hurricanes, and an earthquate simulator.)
virtual volleyball
This had to have been around before the wii.
Our crew stops for a group shot upon departure. We had a great day of fun and learning. The Catawba Science Center also has a planetarium, but we didn't make it to the show on this visit. To my homeschooling friends, and others who may be interested, the Catawba Science Center is free to the public on Fridays. Check out their website at http://www.catawbascience.org/.
