Target Time

It was great to get up this morning and see the sun peeking through the clouds. It's been dreary and rainy here since Wednesday. It kind of had me in a funk. I know the Lord needed to replenish the earth with rain, but I sure was glad to see the sunshine again.

No, this post is not about an outing to Target, although I like that store. This is about Drake shooting his new gun in preparation for the Youth Turkey Hunting Day, which is Saturday, April 4th. Only hunters under 15 can bag their turkey. As you'll see, Drake has some onlookers who have their ears covered.

Drake sets his mark and realizes that Tom Turkey blew down.

He takes a break and removes his headphones for a bit.

He moves a little closer to the target.

He unlatches the safety and prepares to shoot.

Here are the results of Drake's efforts. Pretty good, huh?

And if you're wondering, Hayden does not desire to shoot a gun at this point in his life. As for Corinna, she does have her lifetime hunting license and very well may wish to shoot one day. Just not today. She isn't strong enough to handle the kickback.
